  Shelter of the Guards

All PrisonServer player-characters begin the game having the "Shelter of the Guards", unless the character is created in a prison that is Forced Player Versus Player (PvP). This type of prison has the PvP sign on its name (PvP).

What is the Shelter of the Guards

It's a game rule. Any player having the Shelter of the Guards (SotG) cannot fight with another player and cannot hit any other player. They can only start fights with Non-Player Characters and join other players to just hit NPCs, not players.

Beware: There are "zones without guards" where all players can start a fight with other players and join the party. So in these zones your Shelter of the Guards is useless.

A player can refuse the Shelter of the Guards "forever" and, once you refuse it, any player can attack you and so you can, too. You can restore your SotG by getting transferred to another prison or changing your nickname.

Having the Shelter of the Guards is a way for new players to play without being disturbed by others while they get used to the game, and also allows any type of player to still work and fight together.

  • If you HAVE the Shelter of the Guards...

  • ...you cannot start a fight with any other player and cannot hit any other player inside a fight.

  • ...you can start a fight against non-player characters. (Those fights are colored AZUL when viewed from the outside)

  • ...you can join fights that involve non-player characters (those colored BLUE), but you can only hit the NPCs, not the other players (they can have -or not- the SotG).

Identifying and refusing the Shelter of the Guards

You can refuse the SotG anytime using a method inside the game that you have to discover, but you can only restore it by transferring your character to another prison or changing his / her nick.

Players having refused the SotG get identified by two red asterisks between the nickname (*nick*).

  • If you refuse the Shelter of the Guards...

  • ...you can start a fight with any other player that ALSO has refused the SotG, and join these type of fights (between players that have refused the SotG). Players that have the SotG cannot join this type of fights, obviously.

  • ...you get a 10% bonus on your experience gains, since you're playing the hard way exposing your ass to the bad boys.

  • ...you cannot start a fight with a player that HAS the SotG and cannot hit any player inside a fight that involves non-player characters.

  • ...you can obviously start a fight with any non-player character.

  • ...you can join other players that started a fight with non-player characters (colored BLUE) but you cannot hit any player inside that fight, having or not the SotG.

Who really wants to keep the Shelter of the Guards?

  • Novice players that want to play without being disturbed by veterans that could abuse them.
  • Players that want to level up without problems, then refuse the Shelter of the Guards and join the party.

  • Remember that refusing the SotG has a 10% experience bonus.
